No. The U.S. Bank Visa Gift Card is a prepaid card that carries a fixed amount determined by the giver at the time of purchase. Each time the gift recipient uses the card, the purchase amount is deducted from the available balance.

The U.S. Bank Visa Gift Card can be used to make purchases everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted within the United States.

Yes. The minimum value the U.S. Bank Visa Gift Card can have is $25 and the maximum value is $500.
Do I need to sign an agreement? [back to top]
Each card is distributed with a U.S. Bank Visa Gift Card Cardholder Agreement. This agreement fully explains the terms and conditions regarding the use of the card. This agreement can also be viewed online at usbankmyaccount.com. The Gift Card recipient accepts the terms and conditions by either signing the back of the card or using the card.
Will I receive a statement? [back to top]
No. Gift Card recipients can review their current balance online by logging into their account on the usbankmyaccount.com home page. In addition, the gift recipient can call customer service at 877-693-2899 (we accept relay calls) to receive balance and transaction information.
Are there fees associated with my Gift Card? [back to top]
Inactivity fee for cards purchased before 5/1/2018: After twelve consecutive months of inactivity, a $2.50 fee will be charged to your card each month until the card expires. This fee will not be charged if you use your card to make a purchase or if the balance on the card reaches $0.00. A purchase transaction on the card will stop the inactivity fee charge from reoccurring for an additional 12 months.
There is no inactivity fee for cards purchased on or after 5/1/2018.
Lost or stolen card: We will charge a $15.00 fee to replace a lost or stolen card, which will be deducted from the balance of your card. A reissued card may take up to 30 days to process.
Can I use my card to pay at gas stations? [back to top]
Always pay at the counter. Do not pay at the pump.
To avoid the hold, always pay inside for your gas purchases and tell the operator how much you want taken from your card. When you use your card at an automated fuel dispenser a hold will be placed for an amount that may be greater than the actual transaction amount and will not be available for other purchases for up to 8 days or until the transaction settles for the actual amount.
Using your Gift Card at a restaurant or salon? [back to top]
When using your card at businesses where tipping is customary, such as restaurants and salons, an additional 20% will be added temporarily to the total amount you are charged. Make sure your balance can accommodate the additional 20% or your transaction will be declined. The additional amount will not be available for other purchases for up to 10 days or until the transaction settles for the actual amount.

If there is a problem or dispute with a purchase of good or services, you must address it directly with the merchant involved. Refunds and returns are subject to the merchant’s policies or applicable laws. In case of any other errors on your card account, call us immediately at 877-693-2899 (we accept relay calls). Visit your card activity page on usbankmyaccount.com to confirm any refunded money has been added to your card.
What if my purchase is declined? [back to top]
The card's available balance is probably less than the purchase amount. You may inform the merchant of the remaining balance on the card and use another form of payment to pay the difference, subject to the policy of the merchant. Also, please be aware that use of the U.S. Bank Visa Gift Card at some merchants - for example, restaurants, mail-order companies, and cruise lines - requires the card have an available balance greater than the purchase amount to ensure sufficient funds for tips or incidental expenses. Use of the card at automated fuel dispensers requires a minimum balance of $75. However, only the actual amount spent will be deducted from the card.

Yes. The card is valid through the expiration date shown on the front of the card or until the value on the card reaches zero, except where prohibited or restricted by applicable law.

No, the card cannot be reloaded.

Treat your card as if it were cash and we strongly encourage you to register your card. You should also make note of your card number, as well as the security code on the back of your card.
If you believe your card has been lost or stolen, or subject to unauthorized use, call us toll free, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 877-693-2899. We accept relay calls. You will be required to provide your name, the card number, original value, and transaction history. Your card can easily be replaced and the money on your card will be transferred to your new card, less a $15.00 replacement card fee that will be deducted from the card's available balance. What if I see errors or unauthorized charges on my card? [back to top]
You must call 877-693-2899 within 60 days of the first transaction you believe to be unauthorized. We accept relay calls. When you call, please have the following information on hand: your card number, the date on which the transaction occurred and the dollar amount of the suspected error or unauthorized transactions.

Any transaction that is greater than the card's available balance will be declined.
